Labour Candidate thinks St Neots is in South Cambs

In an amazing video gaffe Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate, who has been widely criticised as a “parachute candidate”, claimed that “St Neots residents are disappointed with their Lib Dem Council”.

Given that both HDC and CCC are ruled by coalition Joint Administrations that prominently include Labour members, she is either completely unaware of the political structure of the constituency, or thinks that St Neots is in South Cambs, where the Council is indeed Lib Dem run.

Whichever way, it shows remarkable disrespect for the constituency. Are there any local Labour Party Members that could have advised her better? Are there any left at all?

The other thing that disturbs me about this is that it seems highly unlikely that St Neots residents are complaining about a Lib Dem Council that doesn’t exist, so why claim that they are?

We need more honesty in politics. I am a member of the Joint Administrations at both HDC and CCC, and I am very proud of our record so far.
