Welcoming His Majesty King Charles III to Cambridgeshire

Today I had the enormous honour of welcoming His Majesty King Charles III to Cambridgeshire at his first post-coronation engagement, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Whittle Laboratory building at Cambridge University.

To my immense delight (and utter surprise) he said to me “I understand that you are an engineer”. I then spent a wonderful day touring the facility and talking to other engineers about industrial fluid dynamics.
